This small road side stall looks not much different to the thousands of others that line the streets of Taipei. However this vendor’s store front has become the social focus for ex-pats in the area, and on weekends it is as busy and lively as any bar.

The stall is owned by Sri Lankan native Athula, from here he serves up curry rotis in a variety of flavors. The curry is homemade and nothing like the bland Japanese style curries that are usually served up in Taipei. The prices are unbeatable, too at less than $100NT for a wrap.

Athula’s stall is located near the entrance to the Bitan Scenic Area, so grab a roti, have a look around Bitan then enjoy the atmosphere and a chat with Athula!
