Description

Shilin District is the largest district in Taipei City, and some of the cities best attractions are contained within it’s limits.

The National Palace and Shung Ye Museums are probably the city’s best and should be high on any visitors list.

There is plenty for the kids here, too. The science and astronomy museums will keep kids busy for hours, and the Children’s Art Museum is also excellent.

The Grand Hotel, CKS Shilin Residence and Zhishanyan will delight anyone with an interest in history or Chinese architecture.

For shopping, Taipei’s best night market – Shilin Night Market is here, and for more upmarket shopping, the international district of Tianmu is nearby.

If that wasn’t enough, Shilin is also the gateway to Yangmingshan National Park which can be reached by road or via the Tianmu Old Trail.
